Minolta Autopak 500

The Minolta Autopak 500 is a viewfinder camera. It was developed by the Japanese company Minolta and presented in the 1960s. In Germany, the model was sold by Foto Quelle, the photo division of the mail order company Quelle from Nuremberg, under the name “Revuematic 500”.

The camera comes with a fixed lens. The lens is called “Rokkor 1:2.8/38mm” and has a maximum aperture of f2.8, which is unusual for a camera for this film format. The focus of the lens has to be adjusted manually. There is a wheel on the side of the camera for this purpose.

Quite unusual is the design of the camera, so the lens barrel is square. Around the lens is the selenium light meter. The metered exposure is set automatically by the camera. The exposure time is fixed at 1/90 second. However, when using a flash cube, it changes to 1/40 second.

Films for the Minolta Autopak 500

The Minolta Autopak 500 is designed for the 126 film format. The 126 film cassette was introduced by Kodak in the 1960s and marketed by the American film giant as Kodapak. The last films for this format were sold in the mid-2000s.

Today, you can no longer buy them. Due to the lack of film material, you can no longer take pictures with the camera today. So the Minolta camera only finds a place in the showcase.

The dimensions of the Minolta Autopak 500 are 11.8 x 7.1 x 5.7 cm. It weighs 320 grams.

The production of the Minolta Autopak 500 was stopped and today you can only buy it used. The condition of the camera determines its value. However, the value of the camera is very low, since you can no longer take pictures with it because of the missing films.
