The Lomo’Instant Wide Monte Carlo is an instant camera. It was introduced in September 2022. It is a Special Edition of the Lomo’Instant Wide from the manufacturer Lomography. At the same time, the Lomo’Instant Automat Glass Serengeti was presented.
The edition is named after one of the nine administrative districts in the Principality of Monaco. Monte Carlo is known for the casino of the same name and the Monaco Grand Prix. During the annual Formula 1 race, part of the route passes through the district. Monte Carlo also serves as a backdrop for many films and books.
As with all Lomography editions, this one differs only in appearance. The functions of the instant camera are identical to other editions.
The instant camera is easy to use and has several setting options. For example, the focus can be adjusted by the user and there is exposure compensation. There is also a thread for a tripod. A built-in flash is also available, of course. A bulb mode and multiple exposure option are also available. There is also the possibility to connect an external flash.
Included with the Lomo’Instant Wide Monte Carlo are an ultra-wide angle attachment, close-up attachment, a splitzer, a lens cap with remote release, colored flash filters, a photo tripod and photo clamps, and an instruction manual.
The splitter is a plastic attachment for the lens. It can be used to variably cover part of the image. Then you take a photo and cover the other part of the image. This makes it easy to take surreal pictures.
Not included in the package is the instant film for the camera. Used for the Lomo’Instant Wide Monte Carlo Fujifilm Instax Wide films. These are still manufactured by Fujifilm. The unexposed images are contained in a film cassette. One cassette contains ten images. A few minutes after ejecting the image, you will have your finished image in hand. You should not shake the image during development.
The must be purchased separately. It provides solid color images with the Lomography camera. Surrounding the captured image is a white frame. But there are also editions with printed frames.
To take pictures you also need four AA batteries (eBay / Amazon*), these are also not in the original package.
