Lomo’Instant Opbeni

The Lomo’Instant Opbeni is an instant camera. The edition was introduced by Lomography at the beginning of 2024. It was developed with the artist Opbeni. In addition to this camera, there is also a version of the Lomo’Instant Automat.

Opbeni and the design of the camera

Opbeni is an artist who specialises in porcelain work. Her works combine traditional Chinese craftsmanship with modern design. She honed her skills in Jingdezhen, the “porcelain capital” of China, and developed her own distinctive technique.

The design of the Lomo’Instant is characterised by the use of porcelain and floral motifs inspired by traditional Chinese painting. The camera is kept in a delicate white colour with golden accents.

Camera functionality

The functions of the instant camera are in line with the other editions. It is equipped with interchangeable lenses, enables multiple exposures and has a bulb mode. There is a mirror on the front for selfies and a built-in flash.

Scope of delivery & add-on lenses

The delivery of this edition includes the camera, lens caps, colourful colour filters and instructions. Three lens attachments – fisheye, portrait and close-up – are also included in the package.

The included lens attachments considerably expand the photographic possibilities of the camera. For example, the fisheye attachment enables ultra-wide panoramic shots to be taken with a special fisheye effect.

The portrait attachment enables the detailed capture of people and faces and makes the background appear softer. The close-up attachment, on the other hand, enables small objects to be photographed at close range in order to capture even the smallest details in sharp focus.

Films and batteries

The camera and flash are powered by four AAA batteries (eBay / Amazon*). It is of course possible to use rechargeable batteries.

The camera also requires film, which is not included in the scope of delivery. Instax Mini instant film from Fujifilm is used. The colour film for this format is the Instax Mini Film*. One film cassette is sufficient for ten pictures, with each picture being about the size of a credit card.

For monochrome shots with the Lomography instant camera, there is also the black and white film Instax Mini Monochrome*.
