The Lomo’Instant Automat Glass Serengeti is an instant camera. It is a variant of the Lomo’Instant Automat Glass from Lomography. The Special Edition was introduced to the public in September 2022. It was presented together with the Lomo’Instant Wide Monte Carlo.
This edition is named after the Serengeti. Serengeti refers to an ecosystem in northern Tanzania. It covers an area of over 30,000 km2 and is one of the Seven Wonders of Africa.
In terms of functionality, it is identical to the other editions. It is easy to use and comes with several setting options. For example, the focus can be set by the user and there is an exposure compensation. There is also a thread for a tripod. A built-in flash is also available, of course. A bulb mode and the possibility for multiple exposures are also available.
Included with the camera are a close-up attachment, a splitter, lens cap with remote release, colored flash filters, photo stand and photo clips, and a manual.
Not included in the package you will find the instant film for the camera. Used for the Lomo’Instant Automat Glass Serengeti Fujifilm Instax Mini films. These are still manufactured by Fujifilm. One image is the size of a credit card. The unexposed images are in a film cassette. One cassette contains ten pictures. A few minutes after ejecting the image, you will have your finished image in hand. You should not shake the image during development.
Fujifilm offers different films for instant film. So there is the regular film for color photos. This is the current_instax_mini_color. In addition, there is one with the Instax Mini Monochrome* a black and white film. Also there are other edition with colorful frames.
