The Kodak S100 EF is a simple snapshot camera. It was offered by Kodak from 1988 to 1993. The model was produced in different colors in countries in Asia. This camera model was also sold under the name “Kodak Euro-35” and “Kodak Breeze“.
The 35mm camera comes with a fixed lens. The focal length of the lens is 35mm. The maximum aperture is f/4.5. The focus of the lens is fixed and cannot be changed.
The camera has only a few adjustment options. The really crucial setting option concerns the film’s sensitivity. With a slider, you can choose between ISO 100/200 and ISO 400. Depending on the setting, the camera’s aperture changes. The shutter speed remains the same in both cases.
In low light conditions, the built-in flash can be used. Only when the flash is turned on will the widest possible aperture be used. Power is supplied by two AA batteries (eBay / Amazon*). The batteries are only needed for the flash. The rest of the camera works mechanically.
Films for the Kodak S100 EF
The Kodak S100 EF exposes 35mm film. 35mm film is still produced today and can be developed in most labs. The Kodak Ultramax 400* is a possible color film for the Kodak S100 EF. Black and white images are possible with the Ilford XP2 Super*.
The color film is a negative film and is processed in the C-41 development process. This development process is available at almost every photo lab. The black and white film mentioned above can also be processed in the C-41 process.
The negatives of the 35mm photo camera have a size of 24 mm x 36 mm. With a normal film (135-36), 36 photos are usually possible. The film must be rewound manually by the photographer using a thumbwheel. The film must be wound back into the cartridge with a crank.
