The Kodak KC 35 Quartz Date is a 35mm camera. It can be counted among the group of simple snapshot cameras with plastic housing from the 90s. The model was made in China. The housing is black. Under the name “Kodak KC 30” a similar model of the 35mm camera was also offered. However, the KC 30 lacks the data back, which can expose the time of recording into the image.

The 35mm photo camera comes with a lens that cannot be changed. 29 mm is the focal length of the lens. The maximum aperture of the camera is f/5.6. The closest focusing distance is 1.2 m. The focus of the lens is fixed and is set from 1.2 meters to infinity.

The camera has a built-in light meter. The light meter is built for films with a sensitivity of ISO 100, ISO 200 and ISO 400. The Kodak KC 35 determines the correct film speed via the DX code. The 35 mm camera has an automatic exposure control. The photographer cannot select aperture and exposure time.

For shots in low light conditions there is a built-in flash. With ISO 100 films it ranges from 1.2 meters to 2.8 meters. The automatic flash can also be switched off or forced if desired. There is also a function for avoiding red eyes.

The camera requires two AA batteries (eBay / Amazon*). For the clock an additional CR2025 battery (eBay / Amazon*) is needed. This battery is of course only necessary if you need the function.

Films for the Kodak KC 35

The Kodak KC 35 is a film camera and is loaded with 35 mm film. These films are still in production and can be quoted by almost any supplier of development work. Nice films for black and white or color images are the Kodak T-Max 100* and the Fujifilm Superia 400*.

The color film is developed in the C-41 process. The C-41 process is standardized and is offered by most development laboratories. Most drugstore chains in Germany offer the development of color films. The black and white film must be put into a real black and white developer.
