The Fujifilm Fujinon XC 35mm f/2 is a compact and lightweight wide-angle prime lens, ideal for those getting started with the Fujifilm X system.
Made in the Philippines, it offers a focal length of 35mm (equivalent to 53mm in 35mm format), making it a versatile lens for street photography, portraits and general everyday shooting.
With a maximum aperture of f/2, it enables shots with a shallow depth of field and beautiful bokeh, while the minimum aperture of f/16 is suitable for landscape shots with a large depth of field.
The optical construction of nine elements in six groups, including two aspherical lenses, minimizes aberrations and ensures sharp, detailed images. The internal focusing with stepping motor enables fast and almost silent autofocus, perfect for video recording and unobtrusive photography.
The minimum focusing distance of 35cm allows you to get closer to the subject and capture details. Weighing just 130 grams and with a length of 46.5 millimeters, it is an ideal companion for on the go. The filter diameter is 43mm.
In addition to the lens itself, the scope of delivery includes the front lens cap FLCP-43, the rear lens cap RLCP-001 and an instruction manual.
Fujifilm XF 35mm f/2 R WR as an alternative
If you are looking for an even more robust and weatherproof lens, you should choose the Fujifilm XF 35mm f/2 R WR. It also offers a 35mm focal length (53mm 35mm equivalent) and a maximum aperture of f/2. The optical construction is the same and thus it delivers the same image quality.
Compared to the XC 35mm f/2, the XF 35mm f/2 R WR has a weatherproof seal and a metal barrel for increased durability. There is also an aperture ring for adjusting the aperture. However, the price is higher than the XC lens.
Other alternatives
Within the Fujifilm X system, there are other alternatives with a similar focal length, such as the Fujinon XF 33mm f/1.4 R LM WR, which offers an even larger aperture and a linear motor for even faster autofocus. However, it is significantly more expensive.
Other manufacturers also offer lenses with a similar focal length for Fujifilm X-Mount, such as the Viltrox 33mm f/1.4 AF. These lenses are often cheaper than the Fujifilm lenses, but can differ in terms of autofocus performance and image quality.
Sigma offers another alternative with the 30mm f/1.4 DC DN | Contemporary, which is characterized by a good price-performance ratio.
