Fujifilm Astia 100F

The Fujifilm Fujichrome Astia 100F [RAP] represents a high quality option in the world of photography, especially in the field of slide film. With an ISO sensitivity of 100, it is ideally designed for use in daylight conditions. Its development requires the specialised E6 development process, which aims to bring out the optimal properties of the film.

This professional film is known for its fine-grained structure defined by an RMS-7 rating. A characteristic feature of Astia 100F is its soft colour reproduction, which gives it a special suitability for various photography areas. According to Fujifilm, the manufacturer, it is ideal for applications such as fashion photography, where the soft tones can contribute to the excellent representation of fabrics and textures. It can also be used in portrait photography, where its ability to reproduce natural skin tones is a great advantage.

It is also suitable for product photography, where its subtle colour reproduction can give products an aesthetically pleasing appearance. Interestingly, the film can also be processed by cross-developing it in the C-41 process, resulting in very warm colour tones that can go in different directions – from pink to purple to orange. Unfortunately, production of the Astia 100F was discontinued in 2011. The sample photos were taken with the Astia 100 F. The film had been out for over 10 years at the time the photo was taken. A Kiev 60 was used to take the photos. It was developed in the E6 process.
