The Fuji DL-50 is a viewfinder camera. It was developed by Fuji and presented in the 80s. The Fuji DL-50 was also sold on the Japanese market under the name “Fuji Lucia”. The interesting thing about this model is its longish design. This is reminiscent of the typical pocket film cameras.
The Fuji DL-50 comes with a lens that cannot be changed. The focal length is fixed at 35 mm. The largest aperture is f/4. The camera has an autofocus. The film speed is adjusted with a switch on the front of the compact 35mm camera. You can choose between ISO 100, ISO 200 and ISO 400.
The aperture and shutter speed on the Fuji DL-50 are set fully automatically based on readings from the built-in light meter. While some photographers prefer to have more control over these settings, the automatic mode is ideal for those who are just starting out in film photography or who simply want to take quick snapshots without having to worry about technical details.
In addition to the automatic exposure mode, the Fuji DL-50 also has a built-in flash, which is sufficient for most indoor shots. The flash is handy, but can sometimes be a bit harsh and create awkward shadows or reflections.
Films for the Fuji DL-50
The Fuji DL-50 exposes cartridges with 35mm film. The 35mm format is very common, which is why there are still some manufacturers and many development laboratories. A good choice of film is the Fujifilm Superia 200* for color photographs and the Kodak TRI-X 400* for black-and-white images.
The color film is a negative film and is processed in the C-41 development process. The C-41 process is standardized and is offered by most development laboratories.
The dimensions of the Fuji DL-50 are 13,8 x 6,0 x 4,5 cm. It brings 270 grams on the scales. The camera needs one DL223 battery (eBay / Amazon*).

Hello,
I just got this camera and I can’t seem to find out how to exchange batteries? It’s very confusing as the only part that opens is the camera back which only shows the film loading spool and on the backs inside there is a little part that shows how to insert the battery. There doesn’t seem to exist any space between the film spool and the battery place. Please help if you can/ know anything about film loading of this camera. Haven’t seen anything like it before.
