Agfa-Gevaert

Agfa-Gevaert is a traditional Belgian-German company that has been one of the major players in the analog photo industry for decades.

The group was formed in 1964 through the merger of the German Agfa (Aktiengesellschaft für Anilin-Fabrikation, founded in 1867) and the Belgian Gevaert (founded in 1894) and gained worldwide fame for its photographic films, photographic papers, and cameras.

With the advent of digital photography, the company underwent a profound transformation: in 2004, the classic consumer film division was spun off.

Today, the Agfa-Gevaert group focuses in the B2B sector primarily on digital imaging and printing systems as well as IT solutions for healthcare, while the traditional brand in the photography field is continued under the name "AgfaPhoto" through licensees.
