The Street Candy ATM 400 is a black and white film. It is offered by Frenchman Vincent Moschetti, who runs the blog On Film Only.

Street Candy ATM 400 is panchromatic sensitized. The material for the film was appropriately used for surveillance cameras in banks and automated teller machines (ATMs). For the Street Candy, the black and white material was made up to 35mm and spooled into recycled cartridge. The cartridges do not have DX encoding.

The film has a sensitivity of ISO 400 in daylight; in tungsten light, the rated sensitivity is ISO 320. Images with the film are characterized by high contrast. The first version of the film was cast on a very thin base. The emulsion of the current version is cast on a 100 µm polyester base.

The Street Candy ATM 400 is currently only available as 35mm film. There is no medium format version as of yet.

Development of the film

The development of this film is not much different from that of other black and white films. You can either develop it yourself at home or have it developed in a specialist laboratory.

Home development

For home development you need the following materials:

  • Development tank
  • Developer (e.g. Kodak D-76, Ilford ID-11 or Rodinal)
  • Stop bath
  • Fixer
  • Wetting agent

Development in a specialist laboratory

If you decide to have it developed in a specialist laboratory, you should point out that this is a special film. Many laboratories have experience with the ATM 400 and can develop it optimally.
