The Rainbow Road 100T is an exceptional color negative film offered by a photo lab in Bangkok (AFilm.me) for creative photography. The film cartridge contains the legendary Fuji Eterna Vivid 160T, which was originally developed for cinema productions. With the Rainbow Road 100T, this film is now available to photographers who appreciate the outstanding image quality and color reproduction of the material.

The film is specially designed for artificial light (daylight temperature: 3200 K) and is therefore particularly suitable for indoor shots or scenes with controlled light sources. Its fine grain and high contrast produce brilliant colors and exceptional sharpness, making it the perfect choice for demanding photographers who value details and creative expression.

According to Fujifilm, the sensitivity in artificial light is ISO 160. If you use a filter, the film can also be used in daylight. The sensitivity is then ISO 100.

Development and use

The Rainbow Road 100T must be developed using the ECN-2 process, which is normally used for cinema films. This special development process ensures optimal color reproduction and the characteristic image aesthetics for which the film is known. While classic photo labs mostly use C-41 for color negatives, some specialized labs also offer ECN-2 development, allowing photographers to fully exploit the unique quality of this film.

Using this film requires a certain level of experience, as the color balance and exposure time should be carefully adjusted to achieve the best results. Especially in combination with artificial light sources, the film unfolds its full potential and offers photographers the opportunity to achieve professional results with an artistic flair.

Availability and alternatives

The Rainbow Road 100T is offered exclusively by the photo lab in Bangkok, making it a niche option for analog photography enthusiasts. You can still buy the film in 35mm film cartridges there in 2024. Since the original material is no longer available, the stocks will probably be sold out at some point.

A possible alternative could be Kodak's artificial light films. These are also regularly produced for cinema film production, but are also sold for 35mm cameras.
