The Polaroid Go Color Film is an instant film. It was introduced alongside the first Polaroid Go camera in 2021.

Polaroid Go Color Film is an integral part of the Polaroid Go system, designed specifically for the compact and portable Polaroid Go camera. This color film embodies the essence of the classic Polaroid aesthetic, but in a reduced format that is perfectly tailored to the miniature camera.

Technical specifications

The film is distinguished by its 100% Polaroid chemistry, manufactured in the last remaining Polaroid film factory in the world. It delivers vibrant colors and a signature white frame that enhances the iconic Polaroid look. Each pack contains 16 exposures, each providing an image area of 47 mm x 46 mm (1.851 x 1.811 inches) on a film format of 66.6 mm x 53.9 mm (2.623 x 2.122 inches).

The light sensitivity (ASA) is 640, making it versatile for different lighting conditions. The film is battery-free and requires no additional energy source for exposure or development.

Compatible camera

The Polaroid Go Color Film is only compatible with the Polaroid Go camera. This camera is Polaroid's smallest instant camera and stands out for its user-friendly design and portability.

It features a built-in flash, self-timer and selfie mirror to make taking instant photos as easy as possible.

It is not possible to use the film in the old Polaroid cameras. It also cannot be used in Fujifilm Instax cameras.

Development process

The development process of Polaroid Go Color Film is a fascinating chemical process that begins immediately after shooting. Once an image is captured, the film is ejected from the camera. A reagent paste is distributed between the layers of the film, which triggers development.

Development time is typically 10 to 15 minutes, although ambient temperature can have an impact on speed and final result.

It is important to protect the film from light during development to ensure optimal image quality. Once processing is complete, the image appears on the surface of the film and can be viewed and shared immediately.
