The Polaroid Color i-Type Film Metallic Spectrum Edition is an instant film. This is a special edition.

The company Polaroid is responsible for the production of the film. It produces the film material in a factory in the Netherlands. However, this is not the legendary company from the United States of America, which is synonymous with instant photography.

Today's Polaroid is the current successor. It was founded as "The Impossible Project" with the aim of reviving the discontinued production of instant films. In the meantime, the rights to the brand name have also been acquired. So now you can buy "real" Polaroid films again.

The Polaroid Color i-Type Film Metallic Spectrum Edition is a special edition of the color film for the i-Type format.

Each individual instant picture is 8.8 x 10.7 cm in size. The actual image is square and measures 7.9 x 7.9 cm. The rest of the instant picture is the frame. With normal color film, this frame is white. In this edition, the frames are in different color gradients with a metallic sheen.

Development starts automatically after the image is ejected. No further steps are required. You do not need to shake the frames, this will not shorten the development time. You need to allow about 15 minutes for development.

Film format

The film format was developed by the company then called "The Impossible Project". The film can be used in i-Type format models. These include the Polaroid Now, the Impossible Instant Lab, the Polaroid Lab, the Polaroid Originals OneStep 2 and the Polaroid Now+, for example.

The unexposed pictures are in a so-called film cassette. Unlike the 600 films, which are identical in form factor, there is no battery in the film cassette. Therefore, the films cannot be used in the Polaroid 600 cameras. For the 600 format, there is about the Polaroid Color Film for 600*. Also, the film cannot be used in other old Polaroid cameras.

One pack of Polaroid Color i-Type Film Metallic Spectrum Edition is enough for eight shots with an instant camera. Once the eight pictures are taken, you need another pack of film.

In addition to the color film, there is also a black and white film for monochrome pictures for the i-Type format (Polaroid B&W Film for i-Type*).
