Photo Hall de Luxe 200

  • Manufacturer Photo Hall
  • Sensitivity (ISO) ISO 200
  • Film Type Color negative film
  • Availability Discontinued

The Photo Hall de Luxe 200 color negative film originated in Hungary and was distributed by photo retailer Photo Hall. The cartridge contains material from a major film manufacturer, which is believed to be Ferrania. Ferrania was a film manufacturer from Italy. Among other things, they had Ferrania FG Plus 200 on sale.

This film is designed for color images and has a recommended film speed of ISO 200, which gives good results in everyday use. However, it is likely that most of the film stock has expired, as no fresh film is produced anymore. Nevertheless, the film can still be used, although underexposure is possible. Therefore, it is recommended that the camera be set to a lower ISO value.

Use of expired film may result in changes in color quality, hue shifts, and more film grain. Image quality also depends on how unexposed film stock is stored. Unexposed film is best stored in a dark, cold place. The storage place should additionally be dry.

Development

To obtain images from exposed film, it must be developed using the C-41 process. Most photo labs in Germany offer this service, but you can also develop the film yourself. The result is film strips with the captured images.

Formats & alternatives for the Photo Hall de Luxe 200

The Photo Hall de Luxe 200 was available in 35mm format and held 36 photos per roll. The cartridge is DX encoded and fits cameras from various manufacturers such as Contax, Porst, and Fujifilm.

However, the film is no longer in production, and an alternative for 35mm cameras would be the Kodak Gold 200*. This film is a good choice for beginners and provides solid images with any 35mm format camera.
