The ORWO NP 20 is a black and white film. It was produced by ORWO in the GDR. Today, the state and the film no longer exist.

At that time it was available for 35mm, large format and roll film cameras. The 35mm film was available in cartridges, by the meter and in SL cartridges (rapid loading system; East alternative to the Agfa Rapid System). Roll film was offered by ORWO in 120, 127, 220 and 620 formats.

The sensitivity of the panchromatic film is given as ISO 80. If you get a roll of the black and white film in your hand today, you should expose it a bit stronger, depending on the age and storage of the film. The reason for this is that the sensitivity decreases over the years.

Develop the ORWO NP 20 in a suitable black and white developer, such as Rodinal or A49. It is best to develop the film yourself, so you have full control over the result.

ORWO stands for Original Wolfen. ORWO was based in Wolfen, now Bitterfeld-Wolfen, and supplied the GDR from there.
