The Nolan C100D is a color negative film that is sold under the brand Nolan, named after Christopher Nolan, presumably by a supplier from China. The film material is manufactured by Kodak, based on the Kodak VISION3 50D, which was originally developed for cinema film production.

Since Kodak normally only sells this film in large rolls for film cameras, the material is cut into smaller sections and filled into 35mm cartridges. This means that the film can also be used in conventional 35mm cameras.

Development of the film

While the Kodak VISION3 50D is usually developed using the ECN-2 process, the Nolan C100D has been adapted so that it can also be processed using the widely used C-41 development process. This enables processing in many common photo labs.

There was also the Nolan 50D/5203. This film is based on the same film stock but must be developed using the ECN-2 process.
