As the film does not have DX coding, the ISO setting must be set manually on modern cameras. The particularly thin film material can be a challenge on older cameras without automatic film threading.
Developing the film
The M104 can be processed with any commercially available black and white developer. Due to its special properties, experienced photographers recommend testing different developers and development times to achieve the desired result.
Digitizing the negatives
After development, the M104 negatives can be digitized as usual. Due to the high sharpness and fine grain, the negatives are particularly suitable for scanning with high-resolution scanners. Alternatively, the negatives can also be photographed to create digital copies.
Storing the film material
As with all analog films, the M104 should be stored in a cool, dry place to ensure its shelf life. Storage in a refrigerator is recommended, especially for long-term storage. Before use, the film should be brought to room temperature to avoid condensation.
