The Lomography X Tungsten 64 35mm is a slide film for artificial light. The film was introduced by Lomography in September 2011. There are 3 rolls of 36 frames of 35mm film in a pack. It can be used in all 35mm cameras.

Cross processing in C-41 is recommended by Lomography. This is supposed to give you crazy color tones, magenta images with a nice blue-violet tint. The sensitivity is only ISO 64, but it can also be exposed to ISO 100, for example in the LC-A+. This can even enhance the colors. However, depending on the scanner and software, etc., the results may differ. When shooting in daylight and developing properly as slide film in E6, it produces photos with a blue cast. With its low sensitivity of ISO 64, it produces photos with very fine grain.

It is suspected that the X Tungsten 64 contains a film from Fujifilm. Probably the Fuji Tungsten 64 (T64). There is no medium format film of the X Tungsten 64. Lomography already had a limited supply of the film when it was introduced. When supplies are depleted the film will likely be discontinued.

What is tungsten film/artificial light film?

Tungsten films were developed to make good results possible in tungsten light. They have a color temperature of 3,400 Kelvin. The color temperature cannot be easily changed as in digital photography. So you don't get a yellow color cast when photographing under daylight.

Tungsten films were most common as slide films. When photographing in daylight and cross developing in C-41, you get whacky colors. Depending on the lab, scanner and development, the results may differ.

The pictures were taken with the Olympus OM 2. The development was done according to the C-41 process. The 35mm film was digitized with the Canoscan 9000F flatbed scanner (eBay / Amazon*).
