The KONO! Donau 6 is a color negative film. It is a limited edition effect film offered exclusively by Lomography.

The special feature of the KONO! Donau 6 is the low sensitivity of the film, ISO 6. Common color films have a sensitivity of ISO 100 to ISO 400, and with digital cameras ISO 6400 has long been nothing unusual.

This low film speed makes it naturally unsuitable for every type of photography, such as sports photography or other moving subjects, but enables long exposures in bright sunshine, for example. The Austrian supplier also says the color film is suitable for light painting.

Images taken with the KONO! Donau 6 are characterized by their blue tint and a faded vintage look.

The Donau 6 can be used in any 35mm camera, but care should be taken that enough light gets into the camera, i.e. an SLR with a fast fixed focal length is better suited than a Holga, unless you plan to shoot on a sunny beach day.

One cartridge of the KONO! Donau 6 offers space for 24 pictures. It is not available as medium format film.

Development is done in the C-41 process, the normal process for color negative films.
