The Kodak Bright Sun 100 is a color negative film. It was manufactured by Kodak in the USA. The target audience was amateurs and casual users. There was also a variation with ISO 200.

The photo film is designed for color photos. The color of the film are very normal and not particularly extraordinary. With its sensitivity of ISO 100, it is well suited for photos on a sunny day.

Development of the film

If you find a roll of the film today, you can use it without any problems and also have it developed. Once the film is fully exposed, it must be put into the C-41 developing process to develop it. This process is offered by most photo labs. It is standardized so that you always get the same result regardless of the lab. If you want, you can also develop the film yourself, provided you have the right chemistry. Once development is complete, you get the film strips with your own pictures.

The next step is usually either the digitization of the negatives or the conventional production of photographic prints. Many developing laboratories offer directly as a service the creation of prints in various sizes.

Digitizing

If you want to process the photos you took with the Kodak Bright Sun 100 in digital form, it is recommended to digitize the film strips with a scanner. Some photo labs also offer a scanning service for negatives. Alternatively, you can also purchase a scanner for personal use. The digitized images can then be shared on various platforms, including social media, or printed in other formats.

Formats & Alternatives

The Kodak Bright Sun 100 can only be purchased for 35mm cameras. With one roll of the color film, you can press the camera shutter 36 times. However, it was also available with a length that had room for 24 photos.

The cartridge of the film is DX encoded. For the 35mm format, there are photo cameras from manufacturers like Contax, Olympus or Leica. Of course, there are many other manufacturers of 35mm cameras.

As an alternative, you can reach for the Kodak Gold 200*. If you prefer a film with ISO 100, you can buy the Kodak Ektar 100*.
