The Iron Bridge 800T is a special color negative film based on the Kodak VISION3 500T - a cinema film that is usually offered on large reels for professional film productions. Although Kodak produces the raw material, it is not directly responsible for selling the Iron Bridge 800T.

The Kodak VISION3 500T is optimized for artificial light (tungsten). Analog cameras do not have an adjustable white balance like digital models, so a suitable film is required for color-accurate recordings under artificial light. Although the Iron Bridge 800T can also be used in daylight, color deviations can occur. A suitable correction filter helps to minimize these, but reduces the light sensitivity of the film.

Processing of the Iron Bridge 800T

The VISION3 500T is usually developed using the ECN-2 process, which is specially designed for cinema films. This process removes a special layer (Remjet coating) that protects the film material in cinema cameras. However, if this film is developed in the standard C-41 process, the coating can contaminate the chemicals.

The Iron Bridge 800T has had its Remjet coating removed beforehand, so it can be easily developed in the C-41 process. This makes processing much easier, as most photo labs offer this standard process.

Applications and camera compatibility

The Iron Bridge 800T is equipped with a DX-coded cartridge and is suitable for 35mm cameras. Whether Minolta, Olympus, Nikon, Leica or Konica - any camera for the 35mm format can use the film. If the Iron Bridge 800T is not available, there are alternative suppliers who also make the Kodak VISION3 500T for photographers.
