The Hanalogital CHAROITE is a color negative film. The film is distributed by Hanalogital from Germany. It was only produced in a limited quantity.

The CHAROITE is designed for color photos. The film speed is specified as ISO 200. It is an effect film. This is a normal color negative film from a major manufacturer that is hand-altered to achieve a certain effect.

This specimen is more precisely a film soup film. In this type of pretreatment, the film stock is immersed in different liquids. The liquids change the emulsion of the film. The film is then dried and can be exposed normally. In the finished images, there may then be color shifts, for example, or parts of the images may not be visible at all.

Development of the film

The development takes place in C-41 development process. The C-41 development process is standardized, unlike the development of black and white film. This development process is standardized. With the appropriate photochemistry, home development is also possible. The result of the development are the negatives. These can be scanned, for example, and then printed out.

With this type of effect film, one must be somewhat careful with the development. Since possible residues of the liquids used to treat the film can get into the developing chemistry. This is especially important to keep in mind when reusing parts of the chemistry for other films.

Formats

CHAROITE is available for 35mm format only. 36 frames fit on a roll of film. There is no medium format film.
