The Fujifilm Instax Square Star Illumination is an instant film. It is a special variant of the Fujifilm Instax Square Film. The responsibility for the production of the film lies with Fujifilm in Japan.
The film is a color film for the Instax Square format. This film format was introduced in 2017 and is the third Instax format. It is based on the Polaroid 600 frames.
Like the Polaroid 600 format, the captured image is square and surrounded by a frame. The dimensions are 8.6 by 7.2 cm for the complete image and 6.2 by 6.2 cm for the captured image. The frame of this edition is not white, but dark blue with star motifs printed on it.
After taking the picture, the camera ejects the image, spreading the developing chemicals over the image and the developing process begins. A white picture then becomes a finished picture within 90 seconds.
Film format
A suitable instant camera for this film is one of the Instax Square series from the manufacturer Fujifilm. It is also possible to use it with a Lomography instant camera as long as it supports the Instax Square format.
There are ten pictures in a cassette. With Polaroid films, in addition to the unexposed film material, there is also a power source in the form of a disposable battery in the cassette. This is not the case with Instax Mini films. The battery for the camera is found in camera itself. This can be either one or more normal batteries or a rechargeable battery.
The first thing you do when you insert it into the camera is to eject a protective layer. This piece of plastic protects the unexposed images from light. Once this process is complete, you can start taking pictures and start the instant fun.
