FilmNeverDie is a company based in Melbourne, Australia, specializing in the distribution of film and Polaroid photography. They have joined the global movement to revive analog photography and offer a wide range of films, including their own FilmNeverDie YORU 400.
Info and areas of application
The FilmNeverDie YORU 400 is a black and white film with a sensitivity of ISO 400. It is particularly suitable for shooting in low light conditions or when a high shutter speed is required. Its high contrast and soft grain make it suitable for a variety of subjects, from portraits to street photography.
Formats and cameras
The YORU 400 is available in 35mm format with 36 exposures. It can be used in any camera designed for 35mm film. There is no medium format version.
The film is delivered in a cardboard box. In 2024 you will pay around 12 euros for a role. The name “Yoru” comes from the Japanese language and means “night”.
Development and digitalization
The film can be developed at any laboratory that offers black and white processing. FilmNeverDie recommends a development time of 13 minutes in D76 (1+1) at 20 degrees Celsius. Theoretically, the film can of course also be processed in other developers. However, there is no official information for other developers such as Rodinal or XTOL.

Once developed, the film can be enjoyed either as a print or digitized. The easiest way to digitize is with a scanner.
Storage of film material
As with all films, the YORU 400 should be stored in a cool and dry place to preserve the quality of the film material. It is recommended to protect the film from direct sunlight and high temperatures.
