Cosina CT-1 Super

The Cosina CT-1 Super is a reflex camera. The 35mm camera was built by Cosina. She is the successor of the Cosina CT-1A. This model had an increase in shutter speed from 1/1000 s to 1/2000 s.

The model was very popular and was sold under different names. They were available as “Petri GX-1 Super”,”Miranda MS-1 Super” and “Revue SC 4”. The housing of the camera and other components was additionally used for different cameras from Nikon, Canon and Vivitar.

The Cosina CT-1G is very similar to the Super, but lacks the 1/2000 s and the built-in self-timer.

The lenses of the Cosina CT-1 Super are interchangeable. Lenses with a Pentax K bayonet can be used. The lens is focused manually. The Cosina CT-1 Super does not have an autofocus.

The 35 mm camera has a built-in light meter. It is designed for films from ISO 25 to ISO 1600 and the exposure is measured by the lens of the 35 mm camera (TTL).

The exposure time can be set manually. The aperture is also freely selectable. The Cosina CT-1 Super has a Bulb setting. A more external flash can be used at the PC flash port or Hot Shoe for pictures.

Films for the Cosina CT-1 Super

Photographic films are required for the Cosina CT-1 Super. Films for the 35mm format are used. Films of this format are still easy to get today and are still being developed. One option for b/w images is the Ilford Delta 100*. A possible film for color pictures is the Agfaphoto Vista 400*.

In the Cosina CT-1 Super is a thread for a tripod built-in. In addition, there is a connector for a cable release and a self-timer. The power supply for the 35mm camera is provided by two LR44 batteries (eBay / Amazon*).

The Cosina CT-1 Super is nowadays only available trough the used market. The prices for a used copy of the camera vary depending on the condition.
