The Carena 35F is a 35 mm camera. It was sold by Photo Porst in Germany. It was produced by Haking from Hong Kong. They also offered the same camera under their own brand. The “Haking Quick” was built in Thailand.
The Carena 35F is more of a cheap snapshot camera and therefore only comes with a simple fixed lens. The focus of the lens is fixed and cannot be changed. The body of the camera is made of plastic. It can be used with a wrist strap.
The Carena 35F does not have a light meter for taking pictures. The ISO value is set on the front of the camera. You can choose between ISO 100/200, ISO 400 and ISO 1000. Depending on the value, the aperture changes when taking photos. The exposure time is the same. There are no settings for the exposure on this camera model.
There is a built-in flash for taking pictures in low light conditions. The flash requires two AAA batteries (eBay / Amazon*). If you do not use the flash, you can do without the batteries.
Films for the Carena 35F
The Carena 35F must be equipped with 35mm films. For this film format, there is still a good selection of material for color and black and white images. Possible films for the Carena 35F are the Fujifilm Superia 200* for color shots and the Ilford XP2 Super* for b/w photos.
The color film is processed in the C-41 process. The C-41 films are offered by most photo laboratories.
