Canon EOS Elan 7 N

The Canon EOS Elan 7 N is an SLR camera. The 35mm camera was built by Canon and was offered on the American market in the mid 2000s. It is the successor of the Canon EOS Elan 7 N. The Canon EOS Elan 7 N was also sold under the name “Canon EOS 33V”.

The Canon EOS Elan 7 N offers the possibility of interchangeable lenses. This is made possible by the EF bayonet. Focusing is facilitated by a built-in autofocus. The “Elan 7 NE” comes additionally with an eye controlled autofocus.

The 35mm camera has an exposure meter. The exposure meter is designed for 35 mm film from ISO 6 to ISO 6400 and the camera reads the ISO value via the DX code on the cartridge. Values from ISO 25 to ISO 5000 are supported.

The 35mm camera has a bulb mode. In low light conditions, the built-in flash can be used. 13 meters is the specified range at a sensitivity of ISO 100. An external flash can be triggered via the built-in hot shoe. The Canon EOS Elan 7 N has a thread for a tripod and self-timer.

The dimensions of the Canon EOS Elan 7 N are 14.6 x 10.3 x 6.9 cm. It weighs 575 grams. The power source of the 35mm camera are two CR2 batteries (eBay / Amazon*).

In the Canon EOS Elan 7 N 35mm film is exposed. These films are still in production and can be quoted by almost every supplier of development work. Possible films for the Canon EOS Elan 7 N are the Agfaphoto Vista 400* for color photos and the AgfaPhoto APX 400* for b/w photos.

The color film is processed in the C-41 development process. This is offered by almost every photo lab. You can hand in your films at most drugstore chains in Germany, for example.
