The Samsung AF-Slim is a snapshot camera. It comes with a black casing and its design is somewhat reminiscent of the Konica Big-Mini. The South Korean manufacturer produced the model in the 90s.
The Samsung AF-Slim comes with a lens that cannot be changed. It has a fixed focal length of 35 mm. The maximum aperture is f/3.5, and the 35mm camera is equipped with an autofocus system. There is a special mode for macro shooting, that can be selected by the photographer.
The camera comes with a light meter. The exposure settings are set automatically by the Samsung AF-Slim. A flash is built in for low-light pictures. The camera comes with different flash modes. The selected mode is shown on the LCD display, as well as frame number and battery status. The camera requires one CR 123A battery (eBay / Amazon*).
Films for the Samsung AF-Slim
The Samsung AF-Slim is designed for the 35mm format. Films of this format are still readily available today and are still being developed. A 35mm film for color photography is the Fujifilm Superia 400*. A possible black and white film is the AgfaPhoto APX 400*.
The color film is processed in the C-41 process. The C-41 process is offered by almost every photo lab. The negatives of the Samsung AF-Slim are 24 mm x 36 mm. This means that at least 36 images fit on a normal 35 mm film. Film transport and rewinding are handled automatically by the camera.
Samsung AF-SLIM R
The Samsung AF-SLIM R is very similar to the "normal" version. However, it has a slightly modified design and there is a small lamp for preventing red-eye when using the flash.
