The Porst ES 35 is a rangefinder camera. It was introduced by Porst at the end of the 60s. The model was probably produced by the Japanese camera manufacturer Taron. It is one of the rarer models of the private label of Photo Porst from Nuremberg.
A fixed lens is installed in the camera. The lens is called "Porst Taronar 1:1.8 45 mm". The largest aperture of the lens is f/1.8 and the focal length is 45 mm. You have to focus the lens manually on the desired subject. With the camera's rangefinder, you no longer have to estimate the distance to the subject.
The Porst ES 35 has a built-in light meter. Both the desired f-number and the exposure time can be set by the user. But there is also an automatic. With this, the shutter speed is selected and the camera sets the appropriate aperture.
The photo camera comes with a bulb mode. The shutter is open for a variable time. An external flash unit can be connected to the PC flash socket. The Porst ES 35 has a thread for a tripod. It can be triggered by self-timer or by cable release.

Films for the Porst ES 35
The Porst ES 35 is designed for the 35mm format. For this film format, there is still a good selection of material for color and black and white images. A good choice for color photography is the Kodak Portra 400*. If you want to stay monochrome, the Ilford HP5* is not bad.
The color negative film is developed in the C-41 development process. C-41 films are developed by almost all photo laboratories.
The 35mm camera can only be found in used condition. The value of the Porst ES 35 depends on the condition of the camera. In general it is higher, because this model is not in circulation so much.
