The Polaroid Barbie is an instant camera. It is almost identical in shape and feature set to the Polaroid One Step (rounded corners).

The exterior of the camera is adapted to the target group, pink, purple and green. The front, the Polaroid Barbie Edition is, moreover, littered with printed flowers. The scope of delivery included more flower stickers for selfies.

The internals are quite identical to those of the other Polaroid 600 cameras. The Polaroid Barbie has a close-up lens and a built-in flash. The juice for the flash and the camera comes from a battery in the film cassette.

To match the camera, there was also a Polaroid 600 Barbie film with an appropriately designed frame around the picture. Today, Polaroid does not produce this edition or any other instant film. However, the 600 film from The Impossible Project (Polaroid Originals) can be used. For black and white images this would be the Polaroid B&W Film for 600* and for color images the Polaroid Color Film for 600*.

Manual for the Polaroid Barbie

How to use the instant camera? A clear guide to taking photos with the Polaroid instant camera. The first step is to insert the film. To do this, open the film door by pushing the slide on the side of the housing forwards. Now the cassette with the film material can be inserted. Then the flap can be closed again. The next operation is carried out automatically by the camera. It removes the protective film from the film.

Now you can take a picture. On the side of the housing is the shutter release button. The motor in the camera now ejects the image and development begins. After a short wait, the development process is finished. Then you can look at the final result.

Alternatives

If you can't find the camera, you can use other options. Two great options would be the Polaroid OneStep Autofocus* and Polaroid OneStep Express*. You'll find a similar range of features on these models. They also use the 600 Polaroid format. If you want a different film format, there is a larger selection of different instant cameras. Exciting models include the Instax Mini 9* and Instax Mini 40*. The matching film stock is also still being manufactured.
