Retrospekt introduced three new variants of the Polaroid 600 instant camera in June 2024, including the limited edition InstantArt Blotches. This model impresses with its playful design and is available for around 170 euros.

Retrospekt's instant camera is designed in a bold color palette that combines vibrant yellows, bold pinks and electric blues. These colors can be found not only on the camera itself, but also on the packaging, which reflects the design.
The camera is decorated with geometric patterns and pixel art symbols that are reminiscent of the early days of video games and computer graphics. These patterns are not uniform, but vary in size and shape, giving the camera a dynamic and playful look.

Functions in detail
The camera is equipped with a fixed lens and has neither a zoom nor an adjustable focal length. There is also no focus adjustment option. The exposure settings are handled by the built-in light meter, with minor adjustments possible using the light/dark slider on the front.
These limited setting options contribute to uncomplicated handling, so that even inexperienced users can easily take photos with the camera after a short introduction.
The automatically triggered built-in flash ensures sufficient light for the shots. The camera and flash are powered by a battery in the film cassette, which is replaced every time the film is changed. A separate battery is not required for the photography process.
Films for unforgettable moments
The Polaroid camera uses Polaroid 600 films, which are available in color and black and white versions. Each film contains eight images that develop as if by magic after the shot. Waiting for the finished image to gradually appear before your eyes is an exciting process that increases anticipation and underlines the uniqueness of each photo.

Instant camera instructions
Inserting the film: Open the film door on the front of the camera and insert a Polaroid 600 film. Make sure that the tab is facing upwards. Close the film door. The camera will automatically eject the dark protective film.
Turn on the camera: Most Polaroid 600 cameras turn on automatically when you open the film door.
Find your subject: Look through the camera's viewfinder to find your subject and frame the image.
Take a photo: Press the shutter button to take a photo. The camera will automatically eject the image.
Develop the image: Protect the image from light while it develops. Place it face down or keep it covered. Development time varies depending on the film type and ambient temperature.
