The Petri MF-101 is a single lens reflex camera. The 35mm camera is a product of Petri and was manufactured by Cosina. The 35 mm camera was also available on the market under the name "Cosina CT-1".
Later, the Petri MF-101A was replaced by a slightly modified version, in which the model's analog measuring needle was replaced by an LED exposure indicator on the viewfinder's side.
The lenses of the Petri MF-101 are interchangeable. For this purpose, a Pentax K bayonet was installed in the camera. The Petri MF-101 has no autofocus and is manually focused.
The Petri MF-101 has a built-in light meter. It is designed for an ISO range from 25 to 1600. The exposure is measured by the lens. The aperture and exposure time can be freely set by the photographer.
Bulb mode is available for long exposures. A more external flash can be used at the PC flash port or Hot Shoe for pictures.
Films for the Petri MF-101
The Petri MF-101 exposes cartridges with 35mm film. 35mm films are still produced by different manufacturers. Beautiful 35mm films for color or black-and-white images are the Fujifilm Superia 400* and the AgfaPhoto APX 400*.
The color film is processed in the C-41 process. The C-41 process is offered by almost all photo labs.
If you like, you can use the built-in self-timer or a separate cable release to trigger the Petri MF-101. The possibility of using a tripod provides the necessary stability. The dimensions of the Petri MF-101 are 13,3 x 8,5 x 4,8 cm. It brings 420 g on the scales. The needed energy for the camera is provided by two LR44 batteries (eBay / Amazon*).
The Petri MF-101 is no longer manufactured. The condition of the camera and whether it still works is today the main factor on the value of a used copy of the camera.
