The Pentax Zoom 60-X is a compact camera for 35mm film. It was built by Pentax in the 1990s.
The Pentax Zoom 60-X comes with a 38 to 60 mm zoom lens. Focusing is done with the built-in autofocus. The camera sets the correct exposure settings itself.
A self-timer and a bulb mode can be selected. Two CR123A batteries (eBay / Amazon*) are needed to power the 35mm camera.
Films for the Pentax Zoom 60-X
The Pentax Zoom 60-X requires 35mm film. 35mm film is still readily available today and is developed by most photo labs. A nice film for color images is the Agfaphoto Vista 200* and for black and white images the Ilford FP4 Plus*. Of course, there are also films from other suppliers, such as material from Kodak, Fujifilm or Lomography.
Color films are developed in the C-41 process, which most photo labs offer. A significant advantage is that there is the possibility to make prints directly. In this way, it is easy to preserve memories of vacations or trips quickly and easily. In addition, it is possible to digitize the negatives and save them on the computer or edit them afterwards.
Developing black and white film requires a different process than color film and therefore offers different options depending on the type of film. Most professional photo labs offer black-and-white film development and have a wide selection of developers. However, those who want complete control over the process can also do the development themselves by purchasing the necessary chemistry and supplies online.
The exposure area of the Pentax Zoom 60-X is 24 mm x 36 mm. The film is automatically advanced by the camera.
The 35 mm camera is no longer in production. Prices for a used copy of the camera vary depending on its condition. The value is likely to be in the single-digit euro range.
