The Olympus AZ-200 Super Zoom is an automatic snapshot camera. It was built by Olympus Optical Co. in Japan.
The Olympus compact camera is characterized by the zoom. This goes from 38 mm to a telephoto of 80 mm. Depending on the zoom level, the maximum aperture is between f/4.5 and f/6.4. The camera sets aperture and exposure time automatically. It also sets the focus independently.
A self-timer with twelve seconds of advance and a flash are built into the Olympus AZ-200 Super Zoom. The flash can also be turned off if desired. Furthermore, there is a special mode for portrait shots. Of course, there is also a tripod socket on the bottom of the camera. The compact camera weighs 382 grams.
The compact camera requires two CR123 A batteries (eBay / Amazon*) for power. These are also quite easy to get today. Depending on the use, the battery will last for a long time.
Films for the compact camera
The Olympus AZ-200 Super Zoom is designed for 35mm film. It has a DX reader and supports films with a sensitivity of ISO 50 to ISO 3200. Both color films and black-and-white films can be used. The only important thing is that they are for 35mm format (eBay / Amazon*) and just have a DX encoding on the cartridge.
The development of 35mm films is offered by many photo labs. After a few days, the developed film strips are returned to you. Depending on the lab, prints of the photos are made directly. This way you have the photos, e.g. from the last vacation, the party from the weekend or the wedding, directly in your hand.
The film strips can then also be digitized immediately. Many laboratories offer this directly during development. But it is often also possible afterwards.
