The Lomo'Instant Automat Henry Steiner Edition is a special edition of the Lomo'Instant Automat instant camera created in collaboration with Austrian-Chinese designer Henry Steiner. It was launched in July 2024.
Often referred to as the "Father of Hong Kong Design", Steiner is known for his unique style that blends Western and Eastern influences.
Design and Inspiration
The camera pays homage to Steiner's artistic heritage and design philosophy. It is adorned with the artwork used for Steiner's poster for the 2008 Vienna Opera Ball in Hong Kong.
The design is a fusion of the timeless elegance of Gustav Klimt and the poetic flair of Li Bai, a famous Chinese poet. The shared imagery symbolizes the harmonious interplay of two cultures and represents Steiner's playful style.
Each camera comes with a leporello booklet detailing Steiner's history and design philosophy, and inviting the user to express their individual style in an artistic way.
Technical features
The Lomo'Instant Automat Henry Steiner Edition offers the same technical features as the standard Lomo'Instant Automat. It features fully automatic exposure, aperture, shutter speed and flash output, making it easy to shoot in a variety of lighting conditions. The camera also offers a range of experimental shooting modes, including long exposure and multiple exposure.
Lenses and accessories
The camera comes with three dedicated lens attachments: a fisheye lens, a wide-angle lens and a close-up lens. These lenses allow the user to expand their creative possibilities and explore unique perspectives. In addition, the camera includes color filters for the flash, a remote control for the self-timer and other accessories.
