The Holga 120 CFN Red is a medium format camera made of plastic. The design of the plastic camera is all red. Except for the appearance, it is identical to the black Holga 120 CFN. A model based on the Holga 120 CFN is also available in olive green.

Included in the package sold by Lomography is, among other things, a Holga book.

The camera comes with a fixed lens. The focal length of the lens is 60 mm. The maximum aperture is f/8. The lens is focused by hand. The Holga 120 CFN Red does not have an autofocus function. There are four focus stages for this purpose. The closest focusing distance for this lens is 100 cm.

If you want to take long exposures, you can use the Bulb setting. Here, the shutter can remain open for a variable time and expose the film. In low light conditions, the built-in flash can be used. This has color filters that colorize the light from the flash. Two AA batteries (eBay / Amazon*) are used to power the flash. The toy camera in itself does not need a battery for operation and otherwise works completely mechanically.

Films for the Holga 120 CFN Red

The Holga 120 CFN Red requires medium format films. This type of film is still produced by some manufacturers. Possible films for the Holga 120 CFN Red are the Lomography Color Negative 100 120* for color images and the Kodak T-Max 100* for black and white images.

The Holga 120 CFN Red takes those in the legendary 6x6 format. As a rule, twelve 6x6 images fit on a normal 120 roll film. Through a small window on the back, you can see the current frame count. This is printed on the back of the paper of the medium format film.

With the 6x4.5 mask, sixteen images can also be captured on one roll of film. However, by doing this you lose some of the vignetting of the plastic lens.
