Ansco 2000 Micro 35

The Ansco 2000 Micro 35 is a viewfinder camera. The 35mm camera was developed by Haking, a Hong Kong company, for Ansco. The Asian designers were probably inspired by the Cosina CX-2 or the Lomo LC-A. However, the Ansco’s features are not comparable to those of the two legendary snapshot cameras. The 35mm camera was also available on the market under the names “Haking Compact-SC”,”Revue 35FC”,”Halina Micro 35″ and “Miranda 35ME”.

The lens of the Ansco 2000 Micro 35 is permanently mounted. 38 mm is the focal length of the lens. The largest aperture of the camera is f/3.5, but you don’t need to focus the lens as it is fixed. The minimum distance to the subject must be 70 cm.

Depending on what the front panel switch is set to (ISO 100, ISO 200, ISO 400), the camera selects a fixed aperture. There is no exposure meter. The exposure time is set to 1/125 seconds. The built-in flash can be used in low light conditions. This is also the only function that requires power.

Films for the Ansco 2000 Micro 35

The Ansco 2000 Micro 35 exposes 35mm films. 35mm films are still produced today and are quite easy to get. One option for b/w images is the Ilford HP5*. A possible film for color pictures is the Fujifilm Superia 200*.

The color film is being developed in the C-41 process. This development process is available at almost every photo lab.

The camera has a weight of 230 grams. The dimensions are 11,1 x 6,9 x 4,9 cm. The needed energy for the camera is provided by two AA batteries (eBay / Amazon*).

The Ansco 2000 Micro 35 is no longer manufactured. The condition determine mainly the price for the camera today.
