The Agfamatic 2000 is a pocket film camera. The pocket film camera was built by Agfa Kamerawerk AG. A similar variant was also on the market under the name “Revue Pocket 50”.
The Agfamatic 2000 Pocket Sensor was introduced in 1973 and was the first of the “Ritsch-Ratsch-Klick” cameras. At the time, Agfa was the first third-party manufacturer for the film format developed by Kodak and even won the iF Product Design Award in 1974.
The camera comes with a fixed lens. The name of the lens is “Color-Agnar 1:9.5/26 mm.” The focal length is 26 mm and the maximum aperture is f/9.5. The distance setting of the lens cannot be changed. The closest focusing distance of this lens is 1.2 meters.
Flashbars with piezo ignition can be used with the 110 camera. Unfortunately, these are not as easy to come by today as they once were. Measuring 12.2 x 5.3 x 2.7 cm, the Agfamatic 2000 weighs 160 grams.
Films for the Agfamatic 2000
The Agfamatic 2000 exposes pocket films. Pocket films are restored. The Austrian company Lomography offers films for the 110 format.
Possible films for the Agfamatic 2000 are the Lomography Tiger 110* and the Lomography Orca 110*. The development of the color film is the C-41 process. This development process is done by all photo labs, but pocket film development is not always possible.
The negatives of the Agfamatic 2000 have a size of 13 x 17 mm. The film in the camera must be rewound manually, as there is no automatic film transport. Batteries are not required by the 110 camera.
The pocket film camera can only be found used. The prices for a copy differ depending on the condition. The value is probably in the single-digit to low double-digit Euro range. The reason for the camera’s low price is the difficult availability of film and the otherwise low demand for this type of camera.
