The Lomo’Instant Automat Vivian Ho Edition is a variant of an instant camera. It was introduced by Lomography in October 2022. The model is based on the Lomo’Instant Automat Glass.
This edition was created in collaboration with Vivian Ho. Vivian Ho is an artist from Hong Kong. The body of the camera features illustrations by the artist.
The camera’s features include an automatic exposure mode, a bulb mode, multiple exposures, a built-in flash, and more. It is also possible to use various lens attachments. Close-up shots are possible with the close-up lens, for example.
In addition to the camera itself, the scope of delivery includes a wide-angle attachment, a close-up lens, a fisheye attachment, a lens cap with remote release, a splitter, color filters, magnetic stickers, photo clips, photo stands, adhesive dots, and an instruction manual. This does not include the batteries. The camera requires two CR-2 batteries (eBay / Amazon*).
Films for the camera
There are no films included with the camera. The Lomo’Instant Automat Vivian Ho Edition requires Instax Mini instant film. These films are manufactured by the Japanese company Fujifilm.
Depending on the variant, a pack contains one or more film cassettes. The film cassettes are individually shrink-wrapped and contain ten images each. The pictures have a size of 8.6 x 5.4 cm and are comparable to a credit card in terms of dimensions. The actual picture takes up an area of 6.2 x 4.6 cm, the rest is taken up by the white frame. However, there are also variants with colorful frames.
After you press the shutter button, the camera takes the picture and the Instax image is ejected. Now the development of the image begins. It does not need to be shaken or otherwise handled. The captured image becomes visible within a few minutes.
For the Instax Mini format there is a film for color photos (Instax Mini Film*), but with the Instax Mini Monochrome* also an option for black and white shots.
